Announcements:

Cross Program Activity Information:

Today:

3:00 The Classroom Stage, Blaga Pauley, California State University at San Bernardino. Blaga Pauley, opera singer and mathematics instructor, will speak on teaching as performance.

Barbecue Dinner tonight: The closing barbecue dinner will be held tonight at 6:00 in the Birch Garden (or the Dining Hall, in case of rain). Participants are welcome to bring their families. Beer and wine will be available.

Check out time on Saturday for all PCMI participants (at both IAS and AmeriSuites) is 12:00 noon. Please make arrangements accordingly. Those meeting later shuttles may wait in the Fuld Hall Common Room or the AmeriSuites lobby.

Please allow sufficient time for the check-out procedure, whether at AmeriSuites or at the Institute. Return your IAS access card, your IAS apartment key (if applicable) and your exit survey when you leave. Those participants staying at the Institute will need to see the PCMI staff in order to return access cards and keys before you board the Airporter (or whatever is your ground transportation): there will be a check-out table staffed in the Fuld Hall Common Room on Saturday. Those staying at AmeriSuites must check out at the hotel front desk and should leave their Institute access cards in a tub that will be provided on the front desk counter.

Important note: the Airporter does not pick up at AmeriSuites. Participants staying at AmeriSuites will take the AmeriSuites shuttle over to the Hyatt in order to meet the Airporter. Please allow sufficient time for this procedure. See Kirstie if you have any questions.

Pizza Party tomorrow night. The last pizza party will be held tomorrow night at 6:00 at AmeriSuites. This is a BYOB event. Pizza is $1.00 per slice.

Exit surveys! Along with the background questionnaire, the exit surveys are extremely important to our assessment process. Before you leave PCMI, please take a moment to fill one out and give us your opinion on the program – the forms are available on the table near the PCMI Message Board (upper level of the Dining Hall). We very much appreciate your help!

The Computer Lab will close for good tomorrow evening at 5:00.

PCMI T-Shirts and tote bags are for sale in the PCMI office. T-shirts come in either white or gray, and are $10.00 each. Sizes are S, M, L, XL, and XXL – sizes S and XXL are limited. The tote bags are made of canvas duck, and are $5.00 each. Both T-shirts and tote bags are available in the PCMI office during regular office hours and at the closing pizza party on August 4. Quantities of some items are limited. Note: cash and check only.
