IAS/PARK CITY MATHEMATICS INSTITUTE (PCMI)
Continuing Outreach Program
The IAS/Park City Mathematics Institute (PCMI) incorporates a network of partnerships
between local school districts and universities across the United States. Beginning with
the two-year High School Teacher Program (HSTP), these university and college sites
provide support for continuation of Summer Session work in secondary school classrooms
throughout the academic year. Through the Continuing Outreach Program, PCMI
supports the alumni sites as permanent centers which will continue this work after
completion of the High School Teacher Program. The principal goal of the alumni sites
remains the same as those sites currently active in the HSTP: to bring together high
school teachers, university mathematicians and students of mathematics in support of
mathematics and teaching at the secondary level, as well as at the post-secondary level.
The Coordinator of the Continuing Outreach Program is James King, University of Washington.
