F.A.Q. Page
What does it mean to receive PCMI
funding/financial aid as a Graduate Student?
- Air Travel (max $450) and Airport Shuttle
- Standard, double occupancy housing in a studio-condo unit at the
Conference Center
- Catered meals of breakfast and lunch,
Monday-Friday
- A modest Meal Allowance of $150 to defray the
costs of dinners
What can I do if I am not awarded financial
aid from PCMI, but would still like to attend the program?
- If you are qualified to attend PCMI contact
our office for information
regarding registration, lodging and other expenses associated with attending
the program.
May I bring my family?
- GSS participants are welcome to request private lodging
for an extra fee and
bring their family to PCMI. The catered meals served at PCMI are
considered "working meals", and thus are for participants
only. All standard lodging comes with a fully equipped kitchen for the
use of your family. If you request private lodging (a studio-condo unit), an extra fee will be
required.
In what kind of facility is PCMI held?
- PCMI is held at the Prospector Square Lodge
and Conference Center in Park City, Utah. Standard housing at the
Prospector Square is a studio-condo unit with either 2 queen beds, or 1 queen
bed and 1 sleeper sofa. Catered meals are served for all participants
at breakfast and lunch on the weekdays. Free access to the health club
and pool at the Silver Mountain Spa next door to Prospector is available.
What options are available for dinner and
weekend meals?
- Park City is full of restaurants ranging from
fast food to very expensive. Also, there are two grocery stores within
walking distance of the Conference Center (or on the free bus route around Park City.) Both grocery stores have extensive take-out
sections.
Can I get around Park City without a car?
- A free city bus operates throughout Park City
and Deer Valley all day and well into the night.
What about child care?
- The Silver Mountain Spa next door to
Prospector Square has a drop-in service. Other options may be
available -- contact the PCMI office. Children should not be brought
to any of the PCMI program sessions.
