Photos 2006 Program

Prospects in Theoretical Physics (PiTP) Participants attended three Morning Lectures in Wolfensohn Hall on the campus of the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) each day, while afternoon events involved Tutorials and Problem Sessions held in Bloomberg Hall.  Participants and Lecturers enjoyed many opportunities for informal discussions during the morning and afternoon breaks, as well as over lunches, at a Pizza and Pool Party and at the Closing Dinner in the Institute Dining Hall.

The Program hosts a special lunch discussion each year on the subject of "Women in Science."

• Women in Science Group: A majority of the female PiTP Participants gathered on the day following the luncheon for this photo, taken with Program Organizer Chiara Nappi of Princeton University (back row center, with sunglasses) and IAS Director's Visitor Louise Dolan of UNC-Chapel Hill (front row center, in pink top).

Lectures, Tutorials and Problem Sessions provided intensive learning opportunities for program Participants.

• Over 100 participants gathered in Wolfensohn Hall for morning lectures.

Lecturers and Participants often engaged in lively informal discussions throughout the two-week program, as well, over morning coffee and afternoon tea in Fuld Hall.

• Participants enjoy a quiet moment outside of Fuld, as well. 

During the first week of the program, Institute Director Dr. Peter Goddard and Mrs. Helen Goddard welcomed participants to the Institute with a Pizza and Pool Party at their home, Olden Farm*: 

• Participants were encouraged to try their hand at badmitton, croquet and frisbee before cooling off with a little swimming, or just relaxing in the shade or gathering at a table for food and drink

Dr. and Mrs. Goddard closed out the program's second week with a farewell dinner for lecturers and participants in the Institute Dining Hall*:
