Goals for the 2004 PiTP Program

In the past two years, although the Prospects in Theoretical Physics Programs were introductory programs in strings and cosmology, PiTP still attracted many participants who were advanced students in string theory.  To meet this demand, PiTP 2004 will be geared toward advanced graduate students (4th and 5th year) who are already actively involved in research in string theory.

Rather than delivering introductory lectures, the 2004 lecturers will talk about their current work, and/or will discuss open problems and possible new directions.  The format of this program will be more that of a workshop than that of a school, with the lectures taking place in the morning, while the afternoons will be kept free for interactions among the students, lecturers, and other local physicists.

Advanced graduate students will be fully equipped to take advantage of this format.
