Introductory Meeting: Participants will introduce themselves, their background, and mention 2 or 3 issues that concern them about having a career in mathematics/science.

Thursday May 17
Participant Discussion about The Graduate School Phase of a Science Career
Potential topics of discussion include:
* How does one know if graduate school is the right choice?
* How does one choose a graduate school?
* What are the main adjustments between being a student at the undergraduate and graduate levels?
* What are the most stressful parts of being a graduate student?
* What are the most exciting aspects of being a graduate student?
* How does one choose an advisor and/or area of research?
* Are there particular issues for female graduate students?
* What is it like to do research?

Friday May 18 (see bulletin board for meeting location today)
Participant Discussion about The Postdoctoral Phase of a Science Career
Potential topics of discussion include:
* How and when does one apply for a postdoc position?
* How and when does one apply for a tenure-track position in academics or position in nonacademic employment?
* Interview experiences
* How do hiring committees make their choice?
* What types of issues should you be aware of when making a decision about where to go.

We will have some guests who have recently attained a postdoc position. Also, Professor Janet Talvacchia from Swarthmore College will tell us a bit of what goes on from the search committee perspective.

Monday May 21
Interview with Joan Feigenbaum.
Dr. Feigenbaum worked at AT&T and now is a professor at Yale University. She will talk about her career path and will compare her experiences in academics and industry.

Tuesday May 22
Interview with Nurit Krausz.
Dr. Krausz has a background in physics but now works as a research analyst in a day trading company on the NY Stock Exchange. She will talk about her career path and choices.

Wednesday May 23
